FormWix vs Wix Automations

Wix Automations is great for Wix-native triggers and actions. FormWix takes over when form data needs to reach external tools. Here is where each one fits and how to run them together.

Agency Best Practice: Use Both Together

You don't have to abandon Wix Automations. Keep your existing native Wix form, trigger an automation action to "Send Webhook" to FormWix, and let FormWix fan out the data to Google Sheets, Klaviyo, Notion, and HubSpot simultaneously.

When Wix Automations is enough

Wix Automations is built into every Wix and Wix Studio dashboard. When a form is submitted it can send a confirmation email, notify site members, create a task, add a contact to Wix CRM or fire a webhook, with no extra subscription.

If your submissions only need to land in the Wix Inbox and Contacts, and the site owner works inside the Wix dashboard every day, native automations are the simplest option and you may not need anything else.

When FormWix adds real value

Things get harder when the data has to leave Wix: a Google Sheet the sales team lives in, a Klaviyo list, a HubSpot pipeline, a Notion database or a Slack channel. Native actions outside the Wix ecosystem are limited, so many sites end up bolting on Zapier. FormWix is the delivery layer for that step.

  • 100+ app connectors & webhooks: Google Sheets, Airtable, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Salesforce, Notion, Slack, Discord, AWS S3, Google Drive and more.
  • Multi-destination fan-out on Studio All-Access: one webhook from Wix reaches several tools at once.
  • Spam screening (honeypot fields, per-IP rate limiting, disposable email filtering, content heuristics) before data is forwarded.
  • Email notifications for new submissions and file upload handling for Cloud Storage destinations.

Setup: use both together

You do not have to choose. Keep the native Wix form and its design. In the Wix dashboard, open Automations, create an automation triggered by "Form submitted", and choose the "Send Webhook" action pointed at your FormWix endpoint. In FormWix, pick the connectors for that form and map the fields.

For Wix Studio builds that need full control over the form UI, the Velo SDK binds any container and submit button to FormWix with three lines of page code, and an HTML embed snippet covers simple sites.

Pricing reasoning

Wix Automations is included with your site, but usage limits and available actions can depend on your Wix plan; at the time of writing, check the Wix Help Center for the current quotas on your plan. The hidden cost is usually the middleware needed to reach external tools.

FormWix is flat: a free Developer Sandbox (1 form, 50 submissions per month), Pro Single at $19/year for one production domain and one connector, and Studio All-Access at $59/year for unlimited domains, unlimited submissions and every connector.

Limitations to know

FormWix does not replace Wix-native actions such as member notifications, Wix CRM tasks or Wix Inbox threads; keep using Automations for those. It also only processes form submissions, not store orders or booking events. Fan-out to several destinations requires Studio All-Access.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will FormWix replace my existing Wix Automations?

No. The recommended setup keeps your automation and adds a "Send Webhook" action to FormWix. Wix-native actions keep working and FormWix handles delivery to external tools.

Do I need Velo or custom code?

No. The Wix Automations webhook mode works with standard Wix forms and requires no code. Velo is only needed if you build a custom form UI in Wix Studio.

Can one form submission go to Google Sheets and a CRM at the same time?

Yes, on Studio All-Access. FormWix fans a single submission out to multiple connectors, such as Google Sheets plus HubSpot plus a Slack alert.

Does the native Wix form stay on my site?

Yes. Nothing changes for visitors. The form, its styling and its confirmation message stay in Wix; FormWix only receives the webhook payload after submission.

What if my destination is not in the connector list?

Use one of the generic webhook connectors to forward submissions to any REST endpoint, or ask the FormWix team about adding a direct connector.
